Taylor Sunglass Case

Our eye glass and sun glass case is named for Taylor County, home of Damon Earl Allen, Sr. (January 19, 1921 – February 15, 2009), an optometrist from Campbellsville in central Kentucky, who as a three-term president of the Kentucky Optometric Association and led the campaign for passage of a bill permitting optometrists to prescribe medication for their patients.  Allen was honored by the Kentucky Optometric Association as the first recipient of its "Lifetime Achievement Award", which thereafter bears Allen's name.

Taylor County was founded in 1848 and is the 100th in order of formation.  It was named for General Zachary Taylor, the 12th President of the United States.
